We all go through seasons of change and growth. Seasons that make us uncomfortable, stretch us, cause us to evaluate our lives, and lead us to make adjustments along the way. Maybe it all starts with a single thought you just can’t shake, or maybe it comes from a dramatic life change. Whatever the catalyst, it leads us somewhere new. We walk through seasons of becoming. During these seasons, things change, and although those changes can be uncomfortable, they often lead us to better places.
I am in a season of becoming.
My entire life is shifting as I prepare to transition into motherhood. As I write this, I am halfway to welcoming my first child, and wow, what a roller coaster this pregnancy has been! But that’s a whole other conversation for another day.
As I’ve journeyed through pregnancy, I’ve found myself evaluating my life and recognizing areas where change is necessary. Motherhood, and becoming a mother, is something I am taking extremely seriously. I have wanted to be a mother since I was little. No, seriously! When I was five years old, I would play with baby dolls and dream about being a real mom.
Motherhood is a calling, and it’s one I will forever be thankful that the Lord has called me to. With that said, I know there are intentional steps I need to take to prepare myself for this role and to honor the Lord through it all.
One of those intentional steps is seeing a therapist regularly. Therapy can be a valuable tool for healing, moving forward, and becoming a better version of yourself—if you allow it to be.
I’ve shared with my therapist how much I love to write, and we’ve talked about how writing can help us process so much mentally and emotionally. I also love sharing my story and struggles in the hope that they might help others. On top of that, I love being creative and creating inspiring spaces for people to connect and grow.
And that brings us to this moment.
I’ve decided to start this blog as a place to share my writing. Some posts will be personal, while others will explore creative topics and ideas that have been on my mind. My prayer is that this space will not only be an avenue of healing for me but will also offer something meaningful to those who read it.
Whether you find pure enjoyment in reading my words, relate to the topics I share, or gain insight into something you’re navigating in your own life, I hope there will be something here for you.
Over the coming days, weeks, months, and who knows, maybe even years, I’ll be writing about the things I feel led to share. Some posts will be personal, while others will focus on tools for healing and motherhood. As I learn, grow, and reflect, I hope to share what I discover as a way to process my own journey and create an outlet for growth—for both myself and those who read along.
So, welcome! I’m glad you’re here.
I hope you’ll pull up a seat, grab a cup of coffee, and settle into a space where you can feel safe to be vulnerable, seen, and understood.
